How amazing to share a musical moment with Melos (@miloscd) during this visit to Madrid. The song is one of his beautiful compositions. We recorded and played super improvised, spontaneous, and natural. And you know what? If I play guitar today, it’s because of him. I love telling this story! 🎵❤️
Melos is one of those family members you choose and who is always there, despite the distance. I’ve known him my whole life, and always, always with his guitar on him. When we were kids, we used to go camping, and I fondly remember the times we spent singing all together around the guitar. I also remember that my cousin @uriolete used to call him “the guitar man,” and I find it really funny because over the years I’ve probably taken over that role 😂
A few years ago, I was lucky to take an alternative trip to Egypt with my mom, Melos, and a really nice group of people, one of the best experiences of my life. As always, he brought his guitar, and the idea was to dedicate one of the nights of the trip to playing and singing all together. In the end, most of the group preferred to party and do something else. We went ahead with the plan and shared a magical moment that would have a huge impact on me, without me even realizing it at the time.
We were singing along to his guitar and harmonica. We were on the deck of the cruise boat on the Nile River, under a super starry sky with a spectacular full moon. The energy was incredible. I knew all the songs, but I loved listening to them over and over, and I still do. Right there, I felt intensely like it was a calling, and I made one of the decisions that literally changed my life: my guitar adventure was starting ❤️
