Oh my god, my phone fell out of my pocket while I was biking and I didn’t even notice! 😱
What a nightmare! It wasn’t anyone’s fault, it was an accident, but you can imagine my face when I was getting home and realized I didn’t have my phone. Actually, I didn’t even go inside, I turned back and went to the pub where I was earlier to check if I’d left it there, but no, it wasn’t there. I also looked along the road, but it wasn’t there either 😭
What I did was call from another phone to see if it was on or if someone had it. And sure enough, a guy answered. He told me he saw my phone fall out while I was biking and he shouted to warn me but I didn’t hear. He was waiting there to see if I would come back so he could give it to me. The phone is an iPhone X, he could’ve kept it or sold it and made a good amount of money, but he decided to return it and you can’t imagine how grateful I am 🙏
It makes me a little sad that what should be something normal (returning a lost item to someone) has become something extraordinary in the society we live in. In Ireland, the social values are incredible, with so much respect for others. This isn’t an isolated case by any means. It’s one of the things I love most about living here, honestly.
I wanted to share this story because I think it really deserves to be told. Let’s keep faith in humanity, there are very good people in the world, and I’m convinced there are many more good people than bad. Let’s all do what we can to make the world a better place ❤️
