When my grandfather was young, he went to Barcelona in search of a better life. He arrived by train at the Estació de França, and he always said he was totally freaked out because he had never seen so many people or such a big place. But right away, he said: “If all these people here have something to eat, then so do I!” And believe me, he did 😊
Following in his footsteps, today I’m arriving in Ireland to fight for my dreams and start a new life. I’m lucky enough to have something to eat, at least for now, but I’m not here to settle. I want a full life, a life filled with music.
But I’ll tell you about this new life another time. For now, I just want to share the first thing that came to mind: those words I heard so many times growing up, the values he taught me. You’ve got to face life with courage.
I don’t know how things will go. We’ll see. For now, I honestly don’t care. All I can picture is the little grin my grandfather must have, wherever he is, when he sees that my courage is just as big as his was 😊❤️🎵
