My First Performance in an Irish Pub

Finally, I had the chance and the courage to perform in a pub in Galway and it was something wonderful ❤️ It’s one of those dates you mark on the calendar. That first time you face something you really, really want but also scares you a lot. And although in the past I have performed in concerts, it was always with a band and only playing electric guitar.

I’m sure you understand this feeling to some degree because we’ve all experienced it in many areas of our lives. That first date, that first time, that first job interview, that first trip, that first… everything.

I confess that at one point I considered not playing. I was pretty sick the days before and my voice wasn’t in the best shape, I didn’t have the song memorized, maybe it wasn’t the right moment, there were amazing musicians playing in that pub… a thousand excuses running through my head not to do it and feel justified.

But I took the blue pill a few days before, made a commitment to myself to do it, and I’m consistent: Where there is resistance, there is progress. And even though I was really nervous, I enjoyed it so much, closed my eyes, and just went with the flow. Also, I felt super supported by my friends who came and by the incredible musicians I shared the stage with.

Obviously, if I play at home I do a thousand times better, with no mistakes, etc., but I’m tremendously satisfied. Because I think it’s not about doing things perfectly, but about enjoying them and sharing them from the heart. Still, I would love your feedback and to know what you think 🙈

I’m convinced this is the start of something really big, something as big as I decide it to be. Something that somehow brought me to Ireland and is making me jump without a parachute and headfirst to fulfill my dreams ❤️
