I Can’t Live Without You by Los Ronaldos

This morning started out so beautiful. The sky was super clear and the sun disguised the big cold it already is in Ireland. The day was calling me loudly, so I grabbed my guitar and some fruit, got on my bike, and went for a ride with no particular destination.

I stopped in some grassy fields next to the beach, had breakfast under the sun, and started playing guitar. First, I played my usual setlist. Then I dared to play some songs from my past. I pulled out the sheet music and lyrics and started stringing songs together, one after another.

I really don’t know how long I stayed. Although it felt like it went by in the blink of an eye, the hands of my watch made quite a few turns. I played and sang countless songs, some I even struggled to remember. I got really excited when this song by Los Ronaldos called “No puedo vivir sin ti” came up. Besides being a very beautiful song, it reminds me of those guitar days with my friend Ginés @drjness and those awesome guitar lessons he gave me. He taught me this song on guitar, and now I dared to add vocals.

Also, I really identify with this song. I think all of us at some point in our lives have held onto something so tight that we couldn’t let go, no matter if it did us good or bad. We hold onto people, jobs, places. It’s funny, we even accumulate a ton of completely useless things out of pure nostalgia. I think it’s really good to recognize that emotional dependence, and if we want something in our life, it should be by our own choice and in a healthy way. Never out of need.

Anyway, I dedicate this song to all those emotional ties we all have in our lives. Here’s to soon being able to face them, set them aside, and make room for new things!
