You know what? There’s something that a lot of people worry about, but not only do I not care… I actually love it.
I’m talking about being the best. I honestly don’t care if I’m not the best.
Of course, I fight for excellence every single day of my life. But I’m very clear about one thing: the only comparison that matters is with myself. I’m obsessed, truly, with seeing things this way. It’s so powerful ☺️
It challenges my brain. I love the feeling of progress, of putting in the work, developing skills, learning, discovering, experimenting, messing up, and then figuring out how to improve. Most of all, I love realizing that there are no limits.
That feeling of bringing awareness to everything is just amazing.
And believe me, I’m super competitive. Anyone who’s played video games or football with me knows that 😂. But this has nothing to do with that. In the end, all that outside noise doesn’t matter, and I choose not to give it my attention.
And if I think about it, it’s how I was raised. Señor López used to tell me all the time:
“You’ll achieve whatever you want. But you’ve got to give it your all. That’s the only secret.”
And here I am. Singing a little worse than tomorrow, but better than yesterday.
Playing guitar a little worse than tomorrow, but better than yesterday.
Doing everything a little worse than tomorrow, but better than yesterday.
And enjoying life a little less than tomorrow, but so much more than yesterday ❤️
