It might sound silly, but one of the things I like most about Ireland is the cows 😍 I could spend hours just watching them. In fact, whenever I see cows around Ireland, I like to get as close as possible and stay a while, just staring at them and listening to them. Honestly, I think we could learn a lot from cows.
They are animals that radiate absolute calm. Imagine being able to slow down your pace of life, fully rest, disconnect, and set aside all worries like they do, spending hours lying on the grass, swishing their tails, happy and enjoying the rain just as much as the sun. Of course, our worries are not the same as theirs, but we can also choose how to take things and how much importance we give those worries. No need to imagine, it’s in our hands. The word is putting things into perspective, and that’s something these fantastic animals always remind me of.
Also, they are very family-oriented. It’s amazing how much care and affection they give to their calves and the strong bond they feel. And how much they suffer when separated from their young… it’s really sad. They perfectly understand what it means to love ❤️ Personally, family is the foundation of my values and priorities, and I really identify with this way cows see the world. It’s so curious how we share such basic and fundamental instincts. They say it’s chance, of course.
And what about that distinct smell of cows? I really like it. It reminds me of when I was little and used to go to the dairy farm with my grandparents and my brother. It also reminds me of stories my mom told me from when she was a kid, stories of when big cities were still vast fields with cows, and you could really feel that slower rhythm of life ☺️
